Upcoming Meetings

Last year at the National Garden
First up, on Saturday May 31st, We are having an outdoor hand-sewing day at the United States Botanic Garden's National Garden.  We'll be sewing in the Amphitheater from 10-1, and leave the possibility open to go to lunch together afterwards!

For our June meeting, we'll be returning to the Shaw Library.  We are hosting a Swap Meet/ De-Stash, so bring fabrics you want to trade, barter, or sell, as well as small bills and change to make the trading easier!  Items for show and tell are also welcome.  Saturday, June 14th, from 1-4.

For July, we are going low-key and hosting a sew-in at Patches in Mount Airy, MD.  Saturday, July 5th, the shop is open from 9-4 and we have the room reserved all day!  Bring show and tell and a project to work on.  There are lunch options nearby.

  1. The shade at US Botanical Garden is not 100% UV protection and a few of the fair skinned quilters were red skinned last year at the end of our session. Come prepared with sun hats and or Sun blocking lotion to sit in the cool meeting area under the translucent tent near 3rd St.

  2. I won't be able to make it this weekend. I'm planning on the next two though. I'm wondering how much room is at Patches? Will we be doing hand sewing or machine sewing?
