December Meeting Recap and January Meeting Announcement

The December meeting at Finch went really well.
Nicole served mimosas and Jessie brought two kinds of cookies.
We had 15 people, including Nicole, participate in the gift swap.
We had three tiny members of the guild come.

I had a ton of fun at the #DCMQG meeting today. I missed my guild friends

And, most pressing for me as next year's guild president, there were lots of ideas for the guild for next year.

So far, there have been 4 ideas for swaps a good lead on a place to hold a DCMQG retreat, two ideas for lecturers, an improved communication possibility,  a group project and one suggestion for a member tutorial.

The next meeting will be at the Arlington Central Library from 12:00 to 5:00 on January 17th.  There is another group in there in the morning so we can't get in until noon.

The plan for the January meeting will be as follows:

12:00-12:30      Set up your space, meet and greet

12:30-2:00        Big Ideas for 2015 planning session--bring hand stitching or knitting and be ready to discuss your ideas for the next year in the guild.  We will review suggestions that came from member surveys. Volunteers for committees would be most appreciated.  We may be switching seats as needed to brainstorm with fellow committee members.  I'm asking no machine sewing for this portion of the meeting so everyone can hear and participate.

2:00-5:00         Open sew time.

If you are not available for the meeting in January, please feel free to comment here or send me an email with your ideas and possible committee/s that you'd like to participate in.
